Description: |
Requires drilling through a hydraulic-fill
earthen embankment dam, glacial till and glacial outwash abutments, and limestone foundation; and permeation grouting of the glacial outwash abutments and limestone foundation with a cement grout. Includes a two-row grout curtain approximately 2,550 feet along the top of the dam, with drilling to depths of 115 feet. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to: 1. Mobilizing, providing all equipment, labor, and facilities required; site preparation including making any necessary improvements to access roads and within the work area. 2. Surveying the grout curtain alignment, grout hole locations, and piezometer locations. 3. Drilling holes for grout curtain and piezometers. 4. Providing all materials for grout mix, mixing and injecting the grout in soil and rock foundations. 5. Providing automated computer system operated by Contractor capable of operating, displaying, and recording all grouting and water pressure testing operations in real-time and storing all required information in a database. 6. Drilling verification holes & water pressure testing in verification holes. 7. Installing piezometers. 8. Providing Independent Testing Laboratory for quality control testing of grouting materials. 9. Site restoration, clean-up, and demobilization. |

Bidders must be pre-qualified. Statements of Qualifications were received until 4:30 PM, 8/4/2010 from Potential Bidders.
The chosen lowest and best bid Contractor will provide performance bond, insurance, and Workers' Comp before Contract is awarded.
The Contractor and all Subcontractors will abide by the Contract Documents and all local, state, and federal laws pertaining to this project.

LEGAL ADVERTISEMENT
Sealed Proposals will be received at the office of The Miami Conservancy District (MCD), 38 East Monument Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45402-1265, until 2:00 PM, local time, Wednesday, September 22, 2010, for 06-020C-400.000, Lockington Dam Foundation Grouting project in Shelby County, Piqua, Ohio. Bids will only be accepted from bidders that have been pre-qualified from their SOQs that were due August 4, 2010.
Bids must be submitted on MCD Proposal Forms, and must be accompanied by a bid guaranty. At the option of the bidder, the bid guaranty may be a certified check, bank draft, negotiable U.S. Government Bond (at par value) or a bid bond. All certified checks, bank drafts, or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds shall be in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid. A bid bond shall be in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the bid. The bid bond shall be secured by a guaranty or a surety company licensed as surety by the Ohio Department of Insurance. No bid will be considered unless it is accompanied by the required guaranty, drawn to the Treasurer of The Miami Conservancy District, as a guarantee that the bidder, after such acceptance, will furnish an approved surety bond for the faithful performance of the Contract. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids and to waive any technical defects, as the interests of MCD may require.
