 Description:  The purpose of the North River Walk Reconstruction Phase II project is to replace the light poles and light fixtures on the levee top. The project includes mobilization; excavating; removing and replacing the old with new light poles, bollard lights, lamp fixtures, and concrete bases; installing 2-inch electrical PVC conduit and cable, ground rods, connectors, and cable splicing kits; backfilling and grading to established grade. Additional activities will include locating and removing the existing cable that feeds the two (2) lamps at the bus stop at Floral Avenue and installing new 2-inch PVC and #2 RHW single conductor cable along the west side of the stairs and along the backside of the retaining wall. Three (3) electrical pull boxes shall also be installed at the specified locations on the Plans. Restoration work will include placing topsoil, seed, fertilizer, and mulch to restore all disturbed areas; and demobilization.
 
 Requirements:  Bids must be submitted on RCIS Proposal Forms (pages 15–23 printed single-sided) and must be accompanied by a bid guaranty and Ohio Department of Insurance Certificate of Compliance. Do not submit the entire Contract Documents/Specs.

The chosen lowest and best bid Contractor will provide performance/contract bond, insurance, and Workers' Comp before Contract is awarded.

The Contractor and all Subcontractors will abide by the Contract Documents and all local, state, and federal laws pertaining to this project.

The River Corridor Improvement Subdistrict of The Miami Conservancy District

LEGAL ADVERTISEMENT & NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Sealed proposals will be received at the office of The Miami Conservancy District (MCD), 38 East Monument Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45402-1265, until 2:00 PM local time, Monday, May 18, 2015, for The River Corridor Improvement Subdistrict (RCIS) Contract No. 2015-008C-200.000, North River Walk Reconstruction Phase II project in Montgomery County, Dayton, Ohio. The project will be managed by MCD. The project will be funded through RCIS. The completed project will be owned by RCIS. MCD shall serve as legal representative and agent for RCIS for the purpose of this bid and any Contract arising from this bid. MCD shall have written and legal authority to act on behalf of RCIS. Any guarantee made or insurance provided to RCIS by a Contractor or Subcontractor(s) shall also be provided to MCD.

Bids must be submitted on RCIS Proposal Forms and must be accompanied by a bid guaranty to the benefit of The River Corridor Improvement Subdistrict of The Miami Conservancy District and The Miami Conservancy District. The bidder has an option of the bid guaranty. The bid guaranty may be a bid bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the bid. The bid bond shall be secured by a guaranty or a surety company licensed as surety by the Ohio Department of Insurance. The bid guaranty may also be a certified check, cashier’s check, or letter of credit in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid drawn to the Treasurer of The Miami Conservancy District. No bid will be considered unless it is accompanied by the required guaranty as a guarantee that the bidder after such acceptance will furnish an approved surety bond for the faithful performance of the Contract. The lowest and best bid will be accepted, except that the right is reserved to reject any or all bids and to waive any technical defects as the interests of RCIS and MCD may require.

Plans, Specifications, and Proposal Forms may be examined and obtained on MCD’s website at www.mcdwater.org under Construction Projects or examined in the office of the Chief Engineer of The Miami Conservancy District, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM.  Plans, Contract Documents/Specs, and Proposal Forms may be printed free of charge from MCD website upon becoming a member of this project.

Per IB-2. Interpretations or Addenda in Contract Documents, “No oral interpretation will be made to any BIDDER as to the meaning of the Contract Documents or any part thereof.”
