 Description:  The purpose of the Broadway Pump Station Modifications project is to rehabilitate the existing stormwater pump station and appurtenances. The main construction activities will include removal of deteriorated cast iron pipe and replacement with ductile iron pressure pipe from the pump station to the gate chamber. In addition, concrete rehabilitation work will be performed on the deteriorating sump and gate chamber. A new concrete pad will be installed at the top of the gate chamber; new stairs with a handrail will be built along the gate chamber to the top of levee; and a floodgate will be installed in the sump to prevent debris from entering via the 36-inch concrete canal sewer interceptor. Construction includes excavation, backfill, and restoration of the levee necessary to perform the work.
 
 Requirements:  Bids must be submitted on MCD Proposal Forms (pages 15–23 printed single-sided) and must be accompanied by a bid guaranty and Ohio Department of Insurance Certificate of Compliance. Do not submit the entire Contract Documents/Specs.

The chosen lowest and best bid Contractor will provide performance/contract bond, insurance, and Workers' Comp before Contract is awarded.

The Contractor and all Subcontractors will abide by the Contract Documents and all local, state, and federal laws pertaining to this project.

LEGAL ADVERTISEMENT & NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Sealed proposals will be received at the office of The Miami Conservancy District (MCD) 38 East Monument Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45402-1265 until 2:00 PM local time, Friday, August 21, 2015, for Contract No. 2015-020C-450.000, Broadway Pump Station Modifications project in Miami County, Tipp City, Ohio.

Bids must be submitted on MCD Proposal Forms and must be accompanied by a bid guaranty to the benefit of The Miami Conservancy District. The bidder has an option of the bid guaranty. The bid guaranty may be a bid bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the bid. The bid bond shall be secured by a guaranty or a surety company licensed as surety by the Ohio Department of Insurance. The bid guaranty may also be a certified check, cashier’s check, or letter of credit in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid drawn to the Treasurer of The Miami Conservancy District. No bid will be considered unless it is accompanied by the required guaranty as a guarantee that the bidder after such acceptance will furnish an approved surety bond for the faithful performance of the Contract. The lowest and best bid will be accepted, except that the right is reserved to reject any or all bids and to waive any technical defects as the interests of MCD may require.

Plans, Specifications, and Proposal Forms may be examined and obtained on MCD’s website at www.mcdwater.org under Construction Projects or examined in the office of the Chief Engineer of The Miami Conservancy District, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM. In order to compute the correct Total Estimated Cost, multiply the Quantity by the Unit or Lump Sum Price in the Schedule of Items and Prices. Math errors and missing information may cause time delays and may cause justification for rejecting a bid. Do not round your numbers.
